Da Nang Port strengthens cooperation with Osaka Port – Japan

On the morning of January 25, 2024, Da Nang Port had a welcoming and working session with Osaka Port – Japan led by Mr. K.Kikahata – CEO of Tatsumi Shokai Co., Ltd. Mr. Duong Duc Xuan – Deputy General Director of Da Nang Port chaired the meeting with leaders of departments/divisions/units directly under the delegation.

At the meeting, Mr. Duong Duc Xuan – Deputy General Director – on behalf of the Executive Board and all employees of Da Nang Port warmly welcomed and thanked the Osaka Port delegation for the visit. Mr. Xuan also briefly informed the delegation about the development of Da Nang Port.

For many consecutive years, Da Nang Port maintained a growth rate of 15%/year, of which container cargo alone reached a growth rate of 20-35%. Currently, Da Nang Port is focusing on exploiting well the last gateway to the sea on the East-West Economic Corridor and hopes that Da Nang Port and Osaka Port will cooperate and exchange human resources, technology, techniques, digital transformation, information sharing and investment in key projects that Da Nang Port is promoting.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. K.Kikahata – CEO of Tatsumi Shokai Co., Ltd was also introduced to Osaka Port. It is one of Japan’s major international trade ports and has been designated a super hub port along with the Port of Kobe. Currently, the port receives and handles about 85 million tons of goods per year, all activities are being exploited by a system of facilities on an area of ​​1979.1 hectares. Mr. K.Kikahata also highly appreciated the outstanding and sustainable development of Da Nang Port in recent years, especially during the period when the Covid 19 epidemic affected the world, but Da Nang Port still excellently completed its targets. business goals, ensuring smooth flow of goods and increasingly improving workers’ lives. He acknowledged the opinions of Deputy General Director of Da Nang Port Duong Duc Xuan and hoped to further promote cooperation between the two Ports with specific and practical content, creating sustainable and strong development. for both sides.

Japan is the most important economic partner of Vietnam in general and Da Nang in particular. Japanese businesses in Da Nang operate effectively, contributing partly to the city’s socio-economic development. In particular, the friendly relationship between Da Nang Port and Osaka Port is always strong, supporting mutual development for the common prosperity of the two seaports.
